Hitting Director & Instructor

We are interested in hiring a professional baseball hitting director and instructor for our training Academy. Candidates for this position must be skilled individual with knowledge of baseball, track record of teaching/coaching baseball, College or Pro experience playing, and have a high level of Hitting proficiency. This person will be in charge of creating and implementing a hitting program for all team age groups.

The ideal candidate is responsible for working with youth of all ages, has experience playing baseball, is excited to represent the Tacoma Select, and is willing to create memories and experiences for players, coaches, parents, and the community.

These instructors will be responsible for the development and execution of Tacoma Selects Hitting Program. They will also be responsible for youth clinics, camps, tournaments, other training with Tacoma Select teams, development sessions for both player and parent, and coaching their own select team.

Must have professional or college baseball-level experience.

Responsibilities:

• Create and Execute a high-level hitting program for various age groups.
• Assist coaches and staff with team training and practices.
• Assist in the successful execution of all Tacoma Select baseball and softball programs serving players with middle school skills to elite talent
• Work with Tacoma Select baseball and softball development programs, camps, clinics, showcases, and tournaments
• Coach a tournament team with local and some out-of-state travel.
• Supervise and motivate players between the ages of 9-18, evaluate players’ baseball/ softball skills, and provide constructive feedback for improvement
• Conduct 1-on-1 instruction, group instruction, team instruction, and coaches’ instruction
• Participate in programmatic planning sessions as needed
• Exhibit good judgment and maintain appropriate behavior with clients
• Ability to problem-solve, communicate, and provide positive instruction to players
• Ability to throw batting practice (40 ft) and hit fungo
• Ability to set up baseball or softball events with the appropriate equipment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain for an extended amount of time
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Job Types: Full-Time, Salary

Salary: Salary is based on 40 hours per week @ $20.00 – $50.00 per hour.
